does the meidjo come with ski runaway brakes or do you have to use a leash type ski runaway ?

I think Meidjo does a telemark binding with dynafits at the rear that locks the heel. Have you tried this?

Currently I am on G3 Targa telemark randonné bindings and Scarpa T1 boots on Line Prophet skis. They work OK.

Hello and thanks for the nice review.
I used my new Meidjos yesterday for the first time.
Everything worked great although I am unsure how the black tele/walk switch at the toe works? I switch from tele to touring as you demonstrated by holding down the binding and using the lock switch.

Who sings the song at the end? Thanks!

Rene, first of all, thank you for the in-depth review. As always, I find your enthusiasm for and commitment to telemark skiing inspiring. I, like you, have been excited by this binding since it was first previewed. There is one small issue which prevents from me committing to the Meidjo and that is the inability to switch between touring and skiing without removing the ski. I own a pair of Voile Vector BC, and here in West Virginia and SW PA, the capacity to easily switch between touring and skiing is so important due to the rolling terrain.

I skied a TTS system last winter and I just don’t enjoy the feel of the binding. I currently use the NTN Freedom, which I really like (skies so differently in comparison to Freeride!) and I think I will use the Freedom with the Vector BC just because of the ease of switching between ski and tour. The tour obviously doesn’t work as well as the Low-Tech/Dynafit style pin design, but I just think that it will be better than the requirement to remove the ski to switch between tour and ski.

So, in conclusion, if there is any possible way to push the developer to modify the design to include the ability to switch easily between tour and ski without removing the ski, I would be very grateful. Thank you again for all that you do for the telemark community.

Rene thanks for such an in depth review. Can’t get them on UK yet, but I am very keen to try
The release feature is if particular interest- in Chamonix I hit a tiny tree in my NTN and they did not release-thought I had broken ankle, thankfully just bad tendon damage. A lady in our UK telemark club (MCCS -biggest club in UK) broke her ankle in NTN. I like NTN but learned on 75 mm Cobra and miss some features. I am hoping Pierre has got it right, and looking at your indepedant review, I think he has; I will try them when I can get hokd of a pair. Please keep your valuable information coming and thanks again.

Rene, greeting from Wanaka, NZ. Just got 1 meter so exciting start to season.
Great review thank you. Just wondering if the Meidjo  comes with a brake system ? .If it is going to be a truly step in system would rather not have to bend down to attach a  leash every time
