Airblaster Ninja Suit (mini review)

Definitely not a necessity, but a nice luxury. Would be great for anyone who regularly gets snow up their back! Check it out at:

I use mine on cold days or deep powder days when I plan on rolling around in the snow. I first got the hoodless shorty version but could feel cold air just above my boot cuff so I returned it immediately. Full length one is a great product.

There’s a trick to getting your “important things” out of it, but doable.

wuwindz says:

How’s the zipper? I’ve worn a thermal undershirt with a zipper once and it was annoying being next to my skin.

The music rocks !!! :))

Maurice Jager says:

what board are you riding?

Ha! 2:38Awesome!

Hey Ryan, you should cover core shot damage and what’s negligible vs what needs repair of some kind. Food for thought.

Ryan how do you keep your googles unfogged all day (you wear it under your helmet), I’m cleaning this thing before every ride and it work out, but when I sweat a lot it doesn’t help neither 😉

Darren Dix says:

I happen to be wearing my “Wolverino Merino Wool” Ninja suit right now as pajamas. These ninja suits are the best wintersport underliner ever made, period. I actually have 5 pairs as I’ve been riding these for years. I have the cut-off version, high-waters with no hood for regular days, and they are great for not over heating, and being as light as possible.

The all black looks totally awesome, and when you put it on, the secret agent music starts up in the background. This definitely pumps your ego for the days riding. And then the camo versions— Airblaster knows what we like!

And then there is the “Wolverino Merino Wool”. It’s as gnarly as it’s name. Expensive as all hell, BUT worth every penny hands down if you are into backcountry in particular. The reason is not just how warm it keeps you, but that it wicks sweat better than anything else, and dries it faster than anything else. It also still keeps you warm when it is wet (to a point, of course, depending on how wet.) . This is the underwear that could save your life, or keep your hands from getting frostbite because of the thumb loops that transfer heat inside your gloves.

And then, if you are going to wear a single pair of underwear for several days, these are the only ones, and then they don’t stink as a bonus. These are so well designed, and you find out several other details about the design later, like for us bearded guys, the zipper won’t snag your beard, as it actually has a beard guard at the top of the zipper!! (YEAH!!)

The 7 piece hood is extremely well designed, and comfortable. You should only wear it if you must or it probably will fog your goggles, but when it’s windy, this saves your ass, and doesn’t let wind contact your skin.

#2 access is also extremely well designed, 150 degree zipper.

The Merino wool keeps you SO warm, you should only wear it on severely cold days. The regular non-wool suits are better for warmer days.

My only complaint is when you get an itch, it’s hard to get to it to scratch it! You probably will love these as pajamas in the winter once you get used to them, though! GET ‘EM!

Sorry to go on and on, but these really are my favorite start to any wardrobe configuration, and in my opinion are more of a necessity than a luxury, even for resort riding/skiing, but especially for mountaineering and backcountry. Thanks, Ryan! I learn a LOT from you all the time! good vids!

Love the shots of the Burton Free 5 in the background. I usually take mine out a couple times per season. Revert carves are a lot of fun on it with the crazy narrow stance.

yogioto says:

Ninja suit, Chinese music!?

turtlezed says:

I remember looking at these and thinking ” how much?”….you don’t need to spend that much on a basic thermal long sleeved vest n pants…mine came off eBay new for less than a fiver ( English pounds) used together with a neck warmer allows you to remove it to vent heat at the neck. Austria proven. What if the hood gets wet? Can it be removed? I.I wore 2 layers under my jacket and was perfectly warm n comfortable with the ability to vent / cool when needed…basic layers shouldn’t be expensive and it don’t matter a jot what colour they are, who’s lookin at them anyway?

Brurgh says:

I love my ninja suit. But not on a cold day fuck it get hot!

It’s super hard to find stuff like this for tall people. :/

I picked up a merino wool one a few years ago, and I love the hell out of it. It’s nice to have the wool if you’re ski bumming and don’t expect to be able to shower very often.

Andy Caba says:

Ryan – you are one awesome snowboarder!!! What I like best about your videos, is the fact that you keep enforcing safety, that speaks volumes bro. I have been watching your videos, specifically, the one about carving. Which brings me to the following questions: Board size, is that a concern? Mine is a Bataleon Disaster 151, reason is small is because I’d like to learn tricks, maybe one day be like you. Any advice? Lastly, I did not see you do any carving in powder, not sure if possible, but can you/have you done it?

Keep up the good work and again, thanks for sharing your awesome skills.
