Ive tested and reviewed hiking poles before and these are definitely some of my favorites. Although they carry one of the highest price tags, there is a reason. They are some of the best poles on the market and built to last. Leki has been around for a long time and it shows in the craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail.

The button on mine keeps popping in when I’m walking along then the stick collapses. Lasted about 2 years then one of them snapped. But they are only sold in pairs. So now I have one odd pole.
Great review. How does this carbon pole compare with some of Leki’s similar aluminum poles for durability? Also, how do Leki foam handles compare with cork?
I had to watch two other videos until I found yours to figure out how to assemble my poles. No one in our group could figure out how to get them assembled and the directions were useless. The “button” was not visible and I was convinced they were defective. THANK YOU for posting an “Assembly of the Leki Micro Tour Stick for Dummies” video!
Great review. I have a website called EndTheTrendNow and I just reviewed the Black Diamond Distance Carbon FLZ Trekking Poles, which are very similar in design and function. I was wanting to contact LEKI to get a set of the Micro Varios to review and compare/contrast the two. Realistically they are almost identical based on your video.

Do you notice any play when the Micro Varios connected. My set of Black Diamonds seem to have a little bit of slack in them. It’s just a tinny bit, but just enough to hear a little noise when walking on pavement.
If I receive the Micro Varios for review, I think I will probably add your video to the article.
Cheers
Thank you very much for this review.
Can you help post my trekking poles ?
Thank you so much, I could not find the locking mechanism!
THANK YOU for posting this! I just got a pair and could not for the life of me find the button- because it’s not visible until you engage the locking mechanism! And the instructions are horrible- “just push the button” What button?!?!!!! I thought I was losing my mind. The first couple times you have to give a pretty hard tug to get the button to pop out, which is really counterintuitive to me, so thanks!!! Once you get the trick these are the bomb.
How about the Cor-tec Vs Air Ergo handles? would you think Cor-tec is better in California (to deal with sweat)? Is carbon worth the 3oz reduced weight? They break easier?
Neat…Thank you for taking the time to show me these….I just might add a set of Leki poles to my mountain equipment
Thanks so much. I had bought a pair and couldn’t figure out for the life of me how to put them together. The instructions that came with the poles were less than helpful.
price is definitely high, but you’re right. You get what you pay for.
Ha! I just got a pair of these and couldn’t figure out how to make them lock. The instructions that come with them suck, and say nothing about yanking the pole out all the way to make the little button pop out. So simple. Thanks!
I misplaced my wrist straps. do they just sell those? I have the poles, and am missing my wrist straps.
Apart from the Carbon poles Leki guarantee their poles for 5 years. The carbon poles are only guaranteed for one year. Makes me suspicious about potential early failure.
