It forms a tight friction fit. If you find that it keeps moving after it cools and drys you could remove the grips and apply grip glue like you would use on motorcycle grips but I doubt you will need that. Not much torque or twisting motion on ski pole grips.
Boy! it looks too easy to get the handle off. I can’t! I have Leki trigger poles. I tried hot water. I even boil the water and dip my poles in it for 15 min. But, I still can’t get the handle out. Help please…

Some grips have a screw on the end that tightens them against the inside of the pole.
