I am happy with my BD aluminum Ergos. I picked them up for a steal at a sale of a price which makes them that much better to me. Great piece of gear for sure.

steve wade says:

are you getting all your gear off mass drop now?

Lokesh Devraj says:

Great review! 🙂

majorpainful says:

assholes too stupid to walk, need poles. idiot.

Stevie Cooper says:

Awesome! I’ve been waiting on a battle-tested review of these poles. I got them on sale, was hoping for the best. Thanks, man!

Tech with Noel says:

Hey I have a question for you do you like the quark grip or do you like the foam grip?

Glen Mutchler says:

I’m confused… the Trail Ergo Cork is all aluminum, weighs 2oz less, and costs 40 dollars less. Isn’t the advantage of Carbon fiber supposed to be the weight savings? Why choose the Alpine Ergo over the Trail Ergo?

Antonia Baker says:

You have really nice hands, just saying :}

Yogi's Trail says:

Thanks for sharing. I think I will try BD poles after my Komperdell’s broke in under 500 miles. I sent the pole in that broke and the company has had it for almost a month! Bad customer service for this guy 🙁

Dillon Mason says:

Hi, I have only one hand and I would like to do a long distance hike. If you could only carry one trekking pole, like me, would it be worth it? Any comments welcome. Thanks

kookiemoose says:

Did you know that if you ldh enough, and you hike with poles, you develop an added crease in the palm of your hand?

Callies Finest says:

Just picked some up from an rei garage sale!

Alex Prizzi says:

I just picked up the full aluminum version a few months ago and recently used them on a thru-hike of the 70 mile Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail near Pittsburgh. These poles are awesome. I had about 45lbs in my pack with lots of steep elevation changes, and my knees didn’t feel a thing. You’re dead on about the wrist straps too. The wider padded straps let you take more of the weight along the edge of your hand instead of having a constant death grip on the pole. Baller. Can’t recommend these suckers enough.

Hoobilly Indiana says:

those need a acronym! lol…

Zack8133 says:

to me this seems more like a preview of the product. Most YouTube reviews only come after extensive testing not just one hike. pretty much everything you said about the product I could have looked up. can you possibly make another review after using them for many trips and talk more about the durability and all those things and maybe compare them to your old set? definitely appreciate mentioning the gear though period I’ve been looking to get some trekking poles and these might just be it

Bruised Toes And Feet says:

I have the updated version. I got a steal on them for $119 during a clearance sale 😀
Also serve dual purpose like yours for my TarpTent Notch

mysteryme3000 says:

What do you use to attach your camera to the pole?

Malcolm Wickham says:

I can’t believe I ate the whole thing!

Wanderer of the Desert says:

don’t have trekking poles not sure if I’d use them getting a pair for my wife. good review thanks for sharing

Josh Silver says:

Hey Darwin, Just picked up the (less expensive) black diamond aluminum ergo corks on amazon for only $70. I borrowed a friend of mine and was super pleased them. Can’t wait to crush some miles with them. btw Thunder Dreamer is one of my new favorite bands now, Thanks! hands down my favorite hiker channel!

Stitches says:

Unlike Leki from what I’ve read and heard, Blackdiamond recently told me that they don’t have or replace the extended grip replacement.
