Anyone who rides in winter knows the value of having warm hands. The cold can cause your hands to become stiff, achy and numb, which decreases your ability to use the throttle or brakes effectively and safely. And, often not considered enough, a cooling down of your body temperature affects your reaction time and ability such as clues from the behaviour of other motorists.

Cold hands are bad news in more ways than one. We have put together a list of 10 of the warmest winter riding gloves available going into 2016. Thanks for taking the effort. I’m close to buying the Kiruna but I worry how long a laminate will last. Seems optimistic. I do own a few Held gloves are they are the best made gloves I’e ever used. I’m riding across central Asia this spring. It’s going to be chilly. And I have Reynauds.

How do you recommend electric battery gloves against the Kiruna ? Ta

Helly Hansen Covert HT Glove. Really amazing gloves. They are filled with Primaloft Gold (133 g insulation) (waterproof, Windproof, and Breathable) Do a review on them.

James Keep says:

Do any of these actually top the Richa Cold Protect GTX that have topped the charts the past 3 years? I’m looking to pick up a pair this week.

Personally I’d have none of them. I’ve tried many in the past and they just don’t cut the chill. Heated gloves all the way!!

that calculation was brilliant, helped me put things into perspective! Thanks a lot!

Nikki J says:

To update my previous comments – yes they are fantastic in the cold BUT absolutely utterly useless in the wet. My hands were wet after 1/2 hour riding in the rain. The inner lining is also not fixed so once wet it was almost impossible to get the gloves back after taking them off. You kindly agreed to refund me and I know the gloves arrived with you last week and still awaiting my refund so I guess you’ve had a lot returned. If anyone is looking for gloves to use in the cold AND wet look elsewhere. I’ve had cheap £30 gloves which are better in the wet. Hoping my refund isn’t delayed for much longer.
