You should specify whether you’re discussing East Coast vs West Coast ski. At least in the U.S. there’s quite a difference.

having been in the ski industry all my life and have been skiing in British Columbia since I was 3 yrs old so skiing for 64 yrs
and have skied many brands the best skis made are Volkl they are a cut above the rest , yes the rest are good but not as durable or as well Volkl which in this video are not even mentioned.

No need to waste 1500 on a ski when 95%+ of all skiers couldn’t tell the difference from an older unused model that will cost a fraction of that. Don’t be a sucker unless you think you have money to throw away. A good skis ski well for good skiers and makes no difference to all to all the terminal advanced intermediates who, for whatever reason, think they need to have the most expensive equipment they can get their hands on. It actually makes you look like a fool to all the real experts who couldn’t care less.

Been skiing 26 years, buying my first pair this year and I dont know what to even look at. Any help would be awesome. I ski in Jackson and alta mostly and have done everything on both except corbits.
